As the big name in the field Materials Science across Europe, Dr. SHELEG Valery Konstantinovich has been elected a corresponding member of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.

2. Since 1972 - at the Research Institute of Powder Metallurgy (Minsk): since 1977 - Head of the Laboratory, since 1981 - Head of the Department, since 1993 - Head of the Department, since 1995 - Deputy Director.
3. Since 1996 - Director of the Research and Development and Technological Institute of Welding and Protective Coatings of the Belarusian State Research and Production Concern of Powder Metallurgy (BGNPKPM) and at the same time since 2000 - First Deputy General Director of BGNPKPM.
4. Since 2002 - Acting General Director, since 2003 - General Director of BGNPKPM.
5. Since 2005 - Head of the Department of the Belarusian National Technical University.
6.Since 2013 - Chief Editor of the republican interdepartmental collection of scientific papers "Mechanical Engineering".
