2024 Feb International Experts Sharing Successfully Hosted

This activity extended invitations to esteemed education experts from universities in Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, and the Philippines, attracting the participation of over 600 students and educators from ASEAN countries and China. The opening speech was given by Mr. Khat Prumsochetra, Deputy Director of SEAMEO TED gave a bright outlook for this activity. Next, four keynote speakers share their insights on the topic.


Dr. Louis Placido Lachica, Associate Professor and Director of the Social Science and Industrial Technology Research and Development Center of Capiz State University, the Philippines delivered a presentation on the topic “Visiting the Philippine Educational Innovations and Trends”, He explained the Challenges in Philippine Education and indicated that using Information and Communication Technology(ICT) Integration in Classroom Communication can provide rich teaching resources for both teachers and students, enabling quicker mastery of technological tools to meet the demands of the new era. 


Dr. Tshin Lip Vui, Head of the Department of Tourism and Hospitality, Politeknik Tawau Sabah, Malaysia shared the topic about the “Fipped Classroom”. He explained the concept of the flipped classroom and pointed out that the fipped classroom allows students to set their own learning pace enhances their motivation, and also helps teachers gain a better understanding of students' learning situations.


Dr.Denny Kodrat, M.Pd. Faculty Member of Humanities and Head of Study Program of Universitas Sebelas April, Indonesia bring the topic of “Differentiated Instruction”, he believes that differentiated instruction can enhance student learning outcomes through homogeneous grouping and differentiated instruction, meeting diverse learning needs among students. Also enables teachers to continually refine teaching plans based on reflections on teaching outcomes, catering to personalized needs.


Dr. Ha Dieu Thuong, Lecturer of Hue University of Economics, sharing the topic about the Difference Between the Traditional Education Model and the Modern Education Model, She considered that in the traditional education model, the teacher plays a more active role while the student remains passive. In such circumstances, students exhibit low levels of learning enthusiasm, and teachers are unable to precisely grasp each student's academic progress. In contrast, the modern education model should prioritize student-centered, interactive, and practice-oriented learning methods to better meet individualized needs. She also provides some modern education methods such as Project-Based Learning (PBL), Online and Blended Learning, and Flipped Classroom. 


This activity focused on innovative approaches in education in the new era, providing a valuable platform for experts from different countries to exchange ideas. It offered scholars a multidimensional and multilevel platform, broadening their international perspectives. This year, CATECP will continue to be committed to the development of China-ASEAN technical education, collaborating with a growing number of experts and professors to carry out International Experts Sharing activities in different fields to bring forth knowledge sharing across various fields.
